Section 2-3: Experiential Learning Model Surveys

By way of review, the Experiential Learning Model was the theory of learning style that comes to us from David Kolb.  It was the one that said there were four basic kinds of learning styles, related to whether a person preferred to experience by doing or watching, and to learn by thinking or feeling.  It was by far the most complicated of the three theories that we've considered, and that means that the survey is also more complicated.

The survey presented below is actually a version developed by two other theorists, Honey and Mumford, that takes Kolb's ideas and makes them a bit more practical and understandable.  Give it a try and see where you land!

The Experiential Model comes to us from David . It says that there are learning styles but everyone has varying degrees of each. The Experiential Learning says that people prefer to get involved with their learning by doing or by watching. They prefer to learn by thinking or by feeling. The types of learning styles are Diverging, Assimilating, Converging and Accommodating. The model tells us if we prefer to work or in groups, with thinking or doing, with abstract or , and more.
