This one is a real find!  Bibliomania.com boasts over 2000 books in their entirety for you to read or study.  There are also study guides and other informative bits.  Read the text right online, or peruse it to decide if the book is right for you or your child.  It’s also great for reference-if you’re doing a book report or writing an essay that needs to be supported with thoughts from classical literature.  Check it out today!

Free Reading Materials for K-1

March 22nd, 2008 by admin

There are some that think education should be like this for everyone.  I was very pleased to discover this site and wanted to share it with you.  Free Reading.net offers supplemental lessons and activities for younger readers, particularly those who are struggling a bit.  There are activities and lessons covering sound-symbol correspondence, sight words, and more.  They are designed to supplement traditional or nontraditional reading programs for young children, and they are proven effective.  If you are homeschooling or if you are teaching in a classroom, there is a 40 week intervention system that guides you through the entire program.  Or, you can easily pick and choose the activities that will help your child or group to improve and practice skills that seem a bit weak.

No matter what your role in teaching reading (parenting, homeschooling, classroom or care giver), you’ll want to check out this great Open Source project.  I hope to find more like this one!
